Closing the Site

I plan to renew this domain when it comes up in a few weeks, but do not expect any major content additions or changes after that. Yesterday, I deleted General Hospital from my series recordings on my DVR and cleaned out all remaining episodes. The show has been unwatchable for me for almost two months and after falling behind during finals, I find that I have neither the energy nor the motivation to continue with most of my GH related projects.

Since Megan is not officially on contract with GH, I will not officially close this site. I’ll keep track of her career outside of soaps but don’t expect too much GH related material as I will not be renewing my magazine subscriptions. Life is too short to sit around watching television that you hate. One Life to Live satisfies all my soap-viewing needs.

Apologies

The last month or so of my school semester was absolutely insane and I barely had time for my beloved Phillies baseball games :-P I was very bogged down in studying and working on finals. However, that’s all behind me now and I’m eager to get back to work!

New Magazine Scans

Here are scans from the first two weeks of April so far. I just wanted to remind people that Megan being dropped to recurring is not necessarily a bad thing. Anthony Zacchara was always a recurring character. Currently, Agent Rayner and Winifred Leeds are recurring. This doesn’t mean that Megan Ward is leaving or that Kate will disappear entirely. This actually might work out — we’ll see Kate when it’s necessary (and with Maxie and Lulu still fighting at Crimson, it looks good for now) and if something comes up that Megan wants to pursue, she’s free to do so. Best to look on the bright side in cases like these!

Dropped To Recurring!

I just got my new Soap Opera Digest in the mail and saw some sad news. True to the rumors that started to swirl last month, Megan Ward has been dropped from contract status to recurring on General Hospital, along with her co-star Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing). Megan is not by any means leaving, but clearly her story has slowed down and she won’t be front burner status anymore. I’m mixed about this news — I was upset that Kate was being reduced to a sniveling whiny girl over Sonny, but I’d rather have her on my screen than not at all.

This site will continue to run, but with Kate’s air time diminishing, it will end up being more catch up than anything else.

Magazine Scans Galore!

We’re all caught up with magazine scans and stills. I have to scan and upload last week’s magazines, I should be able to get to that tomorrow, or Tuesday at the latest. Crimson Glass Media has been linked in the sidebar. Videos are current through March 26 and screencaps are up through February 26. March’s screencaps will be posted either later tonight, tomorrow, or by Tuesday at the latest. Enjoy!

Opening of Crimson Glass Archives

This weekend, I will be updating the layout and linking to Megan’s specific days, but for now, I just wanted to post the link for the new archive that I talked about earlier. No one seemed to have any specific complaints regarding this, so in an effort to get caught up, I decided to go for it. All the details will be ironed out in the next few days.

For screencaps, the first week of February is available, more of February will be available by the end of Sunday. Videos are posted through February 10 and I expect to have those caught up by Sunday as well — and those are posted through January.

I really feel that this method will free up my attention for other things, and I hope to get caught up on a backlog of magazines this weekend.

The videos and screencaps are linked in the navigation: Crimson Glass Archives.

A Few Notes

If you’ve visited any of my sites, you know that I tend to run very behind sometimes with screencaps and/or video clips. I have a busy school schedule and I didn’t realize just how much time I was going to be spending this semester on chemistry, public speaking and all that other rot. I just got accepted for transfer to Rutgers for a more intensive program next year, so here is what I’m up against.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to continue updating each site with screencaps and video clips individually. I know I just reopened the site, but I’ve got to be realistic with my time. My solution is to create on large GH archive with full episodes and screencaps. I know this might be a pain initially to to get specific screencaps, but it has a lot of benefits. I won’t have to five individual sites to organize and upload screencaps for, so I’ll be able concentrate on press archives, and layouts and other new features for all my sites.

So what do you say?

ETA: Doesn’t look like the poll works. Please just reply with your thoughts on the situation. Do you hate the idea? Would you be able to deal if it meant the site would be open? The clips and screencaps would still be HQ, I just wouldn’t have to worry about sorting them by actress any longer.
